Completing a Level

District 101 Pathways Guide
Ken Braly, DTM, DL5, PM5

When a member completes an individual project (like the Ice Breaker or the Researching and Presenting project), they have to mark that project complete. When all the projects in a level have been completed, they have to send a notice to the Base Camp Manager (usually the club's VP-Education, but the President and the Secretary can also carry out Base Camp Manager duties).

Here are the steps.

What the member must do

When the member has completed the necessary projects in the level, their transcript for the level will look like this. All the projects will be checked off, and the Level Completion project at the bottom will be accessible and the button will say “Activate.”

levelcompletion1

When they click the “Activate” button, it will change to “Launch.”

levelcompletion2

When they click the “Launch” button, it will change to “Mark Complete.”

levelcompletion3

When they click “Mark Complete,” a message will be sent to the Base Camp Manager saying that the member has finished the level, and they need approval from the Base Camp Manager before they can proceed to the next level.

What the Base Camp Manager must do

When the Base Camp Manager signs in, they will see

levelcompletion4

They need to click on the “Pending Requests” button. When they do, they will see a screen with pending requests (duh!). (Right-click this image to see it at full size.)

levelcompletion5

Over on the right, they can click the check mark to approve, or the X mark to disapprove. Assuming that they know that the member has indeed fulfilled the requirements, they should click the check mark.

What the member now sees

When the member logs back in to their transcript, the Level Completion project will be marked complete (with its check mark) and the button will say “View Certificate.”

levelcompletion6

They can bring up the certificate and print it.

levelcompletion7

I recommend that the VP-Education print the certificate and present it to the member at an upcoming meeting. It's good to acknowledge members when they complete a new level.
